                                                                   Universiti Malaysia Kelantan

          Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Warm
          Greetings.

On behalf of the Centre for Academic Excellence and
Development (CAED), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), it is
my honor to welcome all participants, fellow academics, industry
partners, and distinguished guests to the International Teaching
Enhancement and Learning Innovation Carnival (ITeLIC) 2026,
held virtually. ITeLIC 2026 represents a special milestone where
the Centre’s year-round, less visible efforts in supporting
academic development, including curriculum reviews, training
for new lecturers, and classroom innovation, are brought to light.

This quiet work is beautifully manifested in this carnival through
exhibits, presentations, and competitions across six key
          categories: Self-Instructional Materials, Micro-credentials,
Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Alternative Assessment,
STEM Innovation for Schools, and New Concepts for the Future
Classroom. While the competitions highlight our collective
creativity, the true heartbeat of this carnival lies in the space it
creates for sharing. As educators, we often face similar challenges in holding students' attention,
assessing fairly, and sustaining passion over time.

Recognizing that we are not alone in these struggles is incredibly reassuring. I hope these few days
spark meaningful conversations and that you discover at least one new idea to inspire your
          classroom this semester.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our working committee, faculty colleagues, external
partners, and the dedicated panel of judges and reviewers. I also record our special appreciation to
the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) and the university management for their
invaluable guidance and continuous support of academic development at UMK.

To our participants, congratulations on your dedication. I encourage you to network, exchange
ideas, and stay open to new approaches. It is often within that very discomfort that our growth as
          educators begins.
          Thank you.
Wabillahi Taufiq Wal Hidayah, Wassalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
